The standards are free online. Why pay for an app?

They are, and you can keep squinting at PDFs in the stands. What you are buying is the two seconds between a swim and an answer: every governing body's standards in one place, already matched to your swimmer's age and course, with history, pace splits, and season-long progress that no PDF will ever give you. And you can try the whole thing free first, four checks every 48 hours, no account and no card.

Is this only for swimmers chasing provincials or nationals?

No. The app carries the full ladder, from the regional and festival cuts most age-group swimmers chase, all the way up to Swimming Canada's national development pathway and USA Swimming's motivational times. Wherever your swimmer is right now, the next cut is in the app.

Does the app cover para swimming?

Not yet, and it is coming. Para standards for S, SB, and SM classifications are planned for a post-launch update, built with the same care as everything else: the right standards for the right classification, verified against the official documents.

Where do the time standards come from?

Every standard is compiled from the official documents published by Swimming Canada, USA Swimming, the provincial sections, and regional bodies. Nothing is estimated or interpolated. When a governing body publishes an update, the app's dataset is updated to match.

How current are the standards?

Standards are reviewed against published sources throughout the season and updated within days of a new release. The app shows the dataset date, so you always know exactly which version you are looking at.

Does it work on the pool deck without Wi-Fi?

Yes. Everything, including the full standards database and all of your swimmers' history, lives on your device. Arena basements and dead zones are exactly where this app was built to work.

What happens to my swimmer's data?

Your swimmers' data stays on your phone. No account, no tracking of your swimmers, no ads. The one exception is the optional photo-import feature, which sends a photo you choose to a service to read the times off it. Backup and restore are in your control. Is Quals affiliated with Swimming Canada or USA Swimming?

No. This is an independent app built by a swim parent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Swimming Canada, USA Swimming, or any provincial, state, or regional swimming organization. Always confirm official qualifying times with the relevant governing body.

What does it cost?

The app is free to download and gives you four time checks every 48 hours, with no account and no card. Pro is $7.99 CAD a year and unlocks unlimited checks, up to five swimmers, saved history, pace splits, photo import, and export.
